Salsa is quick & easy and can be made in many different ways.
It also goes with absolutely loads of stuff.
I’m making gherkin salsa, but you can substitute this for anything a little ‘tangy’ that you fancy (in case you do go with gherkins, expect your salsa to be quite sweet). This version will make enough for a few people to share for dips or a BBQ, or enough to last you for a few of your own lunches.
Time: 5-10 mins
Ingredients:
- Tin (approx. 400g) of chopped tomatoes, OR make your own tomato sauce
- 6 cherry tomatoes
- bunch spring onions
- 4 tbsp sliced, pickled gherkins
- 2 tbsp vinegar from the gherkins.
Kit list:
- Sharp knife
- Chopping board
- Container.
Preparation:
Dice tomatoes & chop spring onions.
Method:
Mix ingredients in a bowl then set aside for 30 minutes for flavours to develop.
It’s that easy. Let me know how your own goes and any ways that you’ve made yours ‘your own’. Tweet any photos @scottcolfer
